How can you make an 18 yr old want to move forward in life?

My son is 18 yrs old and barely goes to school. He is more focused on friends and partying than being responsible, and moving forward in life. He has no dreams or goals. He wants everything given to him. He is not responsive to punishment and does not acknowledge consequences. He will never own up to any wrong doings.
