Why is it so hard to get a cold soda in Chennai?

Last year during my trip to Tamil Nadu, I noticed it’s impossible to get a nice ice soda. Kind of ironic knowing that it is so damn hot
I had sodas from the fridge and they where surprisingly warm. I like nice and ice cold
