Mitch Richmond: One of the Underrated Greats

This segment originally aired in ‘97. It struck a cord with me personally at the time & still does, because when one mentions some of the All Time Great 2-Guards, his name RARELY comes up & when U ask people why, they more or less, don’t give him that just due because he allegedly, lacked the showmanship of a MJ or Drexler or Miller. This guy averaged OVER 20ppg the 1st 10 years of his career & he DID IT in the TOUGHEST defensive era EVER! With no help a that! Imagine if he just had the physical ability of MJ circa 1996-98, he would’ve been even more of a beast than his peers knew he was, but yet many fans, just didn’t get how TRULY great he was. During those years for the Kings, he was option 1, 2 & 3 & was being doubled & tripled team EVERY NIGHT!!
